Kindergarten Fieldtrip

Makiah and I were invited to join Kenda on her fieldtrip to a new place called Fins N Flippers. It is an amazing place where they take in hurt animals and then rehabilitate them in order to introduce them back into the natural environment. We saw sea lions, monkeys, birds, snakes, crocs and even a jaguar. The girls had lots of fun and we learned some great things from Bayrd the veterinarian.

We dedicate this picture to Merril Blake who would be very proud to see his little grand daughters being brave enough to pet a boa constrictor that had a hurt mouth.

Kenda is looking at a baby crocodile. They have a homing device in them that helps them find their way back to the place they call home. In order to set them loose back into the wild, they have to be over 1000 miles away or they will migrate back to their original dwellings even if it takes them their whole life.

After looking at over 30 different animals, the girls headed back to the restaurant area with the class to have cookies and juice before we returned back to the classroom.
