Kiah Turns 7 In the Dark

Yes, it was a few weeks ago, but things have been busy. On Nov. 25th, Kiah turned 7. The power was out all afternoon so we ended up cooking and dining by candlelight and flashlights. Kiah's pick for dinner was cheese filled raviolis, ramen noodles, and garlic bread. Not very colorful, but she loved it.

Kiah wanted a dolphin theme and decided to go spend an afternoon at Anthonys Key Resort with the real dolphins, rather than do a friend party. We still decorated with a dolphin cake and balloons etc, but it was just our family for the celebration.

At school, Kiah was asked to join in the class tradition of walking around the months of the year with her class, as I told them a milestone that happened for each year of her life. It was a fun activity and then they had cupcakes and juice. She is still a kind, quiet, complex little girl who struggles to fit in, but loves to be loved. We are so blessed to have her in our home and to learn and grow together.
