Journey Turns 1

Her theme was lady bugs. I baked both the body and the head in bowls and then
used a bottle of red food coloring....which is hard for me to admit. My mother would be
sooo disappointed! The eyes are marshmallows and junior mints with licorice pieces for lashes and legs and smile. It turned out way better than I thought it would.
I put her hair in pigtails. She looked so grown up.
The lucky girl got to eat the head all by herself. I was so excited to see her dig in and get
all messy. Sadly, she nibbled delicately around the top and barely needed a rag to wipe
her face and hands. It was anti-climatic after all the work that went into it. I was hoping
at least she would need a solid sink bath to get it off!
She got some great gifts from her family. We ate BBQ beef sandwiches and pasta salad for
dinner. It was a great night to celebrate as a family.
