Meet Macey

Well, we have been promising our kids we could get a dog for a long time. Unfortunately, rentals have such expensive deposits that we have not wanted to get one until now. Living up on the mountain, it makes it much easier to get a dog. We have spent the last several days searching the newspapers and internet for a free (or cheap) puppy. It is amazing how hard it is to find a puppy that is not several hundred dollars. Even the second chance rescue would not accept us as potential applicants because we dont have a fenced yard. Well, long story short, we found Macey in the paper and headed out a few minutes after we called the lady. She was $55 and in the Hayden area so we went for her. The part that we were not anticipating was that we would find a large dog.....I mean really large. Macey is a Great Dane/Mastiff. Who knew.  This is her at 6 weeks old. She will grow to be around 150 lbs.
