Little Miss Muffett...or something

SO, as the story would have it, the power went out in our little house last night. Louis got home from a long day at the resort and decided to take a shower (dimly lit by candles). As he stepped in, he glanced up and noticed he was sharing the shower with this "not so little" spider on the wall. Please remember (for those of you who don't know), I am scared to death of spiders (thanks to my mother....and her mother...). I know about tarantulas in Roatan and accept that I may run across one here. However, I was not prepared for this. He was not the typical house spider variety. He was about 8 inches in diameter and hopped like a frog. Louis asked me to watch it with the flashlight so he could run to the kitchen in the dark to get a paper towel (not my first choice of warfare but...). Unfortunately we are out of paper towels so he went to find the dust pan, which does not have a very long handle. So I have my flashlight aimed on the spider and Louis swings for it, then starts yelling "I dont know where it went...serioulsy, I can't find it!!!" So, we start flashing the light around the bathroom searching for it. Finally we found it. It hopped over onto my shave cream can and was hiding on it. It was so huge!!! Louis bravely coaxed it off the can and hit it with the dust pan and flushed it. It was late into the day before I could bring myself to take a shower.

That's why I could never live somewhere tropical. Just seeing the pictures gave me the willies. Spiders are awful!!!
